Community:
The Delaware County Kennel Club is very community oriented. We have donated first aid kits to the PA State Police, armored vests to local police departments for their K-9 companions, oxygen masks to local fire and rescue departments to be used on animals suffering from smoke inhalation, and money to our local SPCA for use in caring for rescued animals. In March 2009 we proudly presented our 15th bullet proof vest to Officer Jax during a presentation at the Celtic Classic. Below is a presentation in May 2009 of 13 First Aide kits to officers of various departments in Delaware County. Recently in the news: On 10/15/2011, the Delaware County Kennel Club was honored to be a part of the pre-game show at the PPL Soccer Stadium, Chester, PA. The club was privileged to present the two 2 Chester City K-9 Officers, K-9 Chase and Handler Officer Bill Murphy and K-9 Mickey and handler Officer Joe Dougherty with their personal K-9 Ballistic Vests, K-9 First Aid Kits and K-9 Oxygen Masks. Believe it or not, the K-9 Officers handled the 18,000 cheering soccer fans like real troopers. |
On March 17, 2008 the AKC awarded the Delaware County Kennel Club the Community Achievement Award for our community activities.
|
The Pennsylvania Federation of Dog Clubs named the Delaware County Kennel Club as the “Outstanding Club of the Year for 2005” because of our community activities.
